Sample 1
Off the top of my head, a place quite off the beaten track but really worth a is a small lake called X, on the outskirts of the city. As I have mentioned, it’s quite far to reach and is almost inaccessible by coach or other means of transport. The only way that you can make it to the lake is by motorbike, and you have to be prepared to overcome the rough terrain if you want to get there. This is simply because the rural part of the city quite lags behind and road development might take dozens of years to complete, so the paths are quite muddy and uneven. After strenuous rides, the prize will be yours to grab. In front of your eyes appears a picturesque lake unspoiled and virgin in its state and I bet you won't stop staring at it in wonder. The best part about the lake is the crystal-clear water without being contaminated. You can even catch sight of fish swimming in the water or dragonflies hovering around the lake surface. There’re also many ancient trees surrounding the lake, which gives plenty of shade to the travelers. It’s the best spot to have a camping trip or picnic with your friends, or simply throwing your fishing rod while contemplating things in life. It’s really serene and tranquil. I hope more people would know this place, and with that in mind, the authorities should make the road more accessible by providing some constructions or offer some services to move people there in a speedier manner.
QUESTIONS FOR PART 3
Why some popular tourist places are free/ do not require tickets to enter?
If you ask me, I’d say that it’s an effort of the authorities to popularize the place. If there is an entrance fee, not many travelers would go the extra mile to pay for that, and the tourist place will be left on its own, which can be a waste of resource. Also, many spots that offer free entrance are often not equipped with entertainment facilities, and they are mostly for sightseeing purposes.
Why does the government want tourists to visit ancient places?
In my experience, it seems that ancient tourist spots often symbolize the cultural heritage and national identity of a nation. If tourists pay a visit to these places of interest, they will gain a deeper insight into the host country ’s culture, helping raise awareness of global citizens about the country. From this, they can appreciate the culture, the hardship country has gone through and foreigners would be more tolerant or admire the country.
Do you think we need to respect the region and culture when you go to other countries?
Yes, I'd suppose. In most of the eases, immigrants or tourists to another country tend to suffer from culture shock, food adaptability and racial discrimination and stuff like that. So, it's quite advisable that they make real efforts to pay decent respect to the host country's culture when people come to a new land. For example, if you know that beef is banned in Muslim countries and try to avoid including it in your daily diet, you can save yourself from religious prejudice and lead a life like the natives.
What are the advantages of travelling? Why do more and more people choose to travel abroad?
Clearly, there are a number of merits brought by travelling. But I would probably say that the thing that really stands out that we can broaden our horizons of the world. To be more specific, when coming to a new region or a country, we have the chances to sample the local life, enjoy the cuisine and learn many interesting stuff. Besides, a second positive point could be that we can let our hair down after stressful periods of hard work or study. A short visit to somewhere can help us recharge our batteries and work more effectively afterwards.
What are the advantages and disadvantages brought by travelling to a country?
To be honest, there are mixed pros and cons when it comes to travelling to a different nation. Let me get started from the bright side. Firstly, we can broaden our horizons of the world. To be more specific, when coming to a new region or a country, we have the chances to sample the local life, enjoy the cuisine and learn many interesting stuff. Besides, a second positive point could he that we can let our hair down after stressful periods of hard work or study. A short visit to somewhere can help us recharge our batteries and work more effectively afterwards. On the negative side, travelling can cause pollution to the host country. It is not common that many irresponsible tourists freely drop litter or spit on the streets which spoils the landscape and makes the air polluted somehow.
What advice would you give to the foreigners travelling to your country?
Well, for people who wants to make a trip to my country, there are a lot of necessary preparations. First of all, they must get prepared to deal with problems in daily life, which can be hard to be found in their own countries. For example, they are faced with traffic jam, particularly during peak hours; or run the risk of being stolen in public places like buses.
Are there many quiet places in your city?
I reckon there aren’t many tranquil places in our city unless you wander around the border to the countryside. I suppose any cosmopolitan city is as crowed and active as mine so it’s quite tricky to find a peaceful spot to escape just for a while. Nevertheless, if you don’t mind an hour riding to the edge of the city, you will be hypnotized by many endless paddy fields and colorful flying kites.
Why do people sometimes prefer to be alone?
I don’t think there is a simple explanation for why people sometimes seek solitude to enjoy life by themselves. It has happened to me a few times as well when I feel suffocated by a bustle and hustle of city life. You have to spend two-third of your day being surrounded by all kinds of people and work that you barely have time for yourself and things you love, which is physically and emotionally detrimental. Therefore, in order to balance their personal lives, people often try to minimize contacts with outside world to find their inner peace when possible.
What are some of the advantages of quiet places?
There are many advantages that being in a tranquil and serene place can give us. The first plus point is that it’s easier to concentrate, to think logically and rationally. In a word, it’s good for my mind work. Also, quiet places enable people to feel relaxed and light-hearted or whatever type of positive feeling human has.
What kinds of places do people want to go to when they want to be alone?
Honestly speaking, city dwellers often try to manage a trip to the countryside, where the atmosphere is tranquil and serene, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Some others who are preoccupied with their work tend to make an escape to a secluded lake or park where they spend time reading a book or pursuing other hobbies like drawing. Also, some people would rather just stay at home, in their room listening to music or doing other trivial stuff.
