Grammar about differences used to would simple past

Used to / Would / Simple past

These three sentences are more or less the same in terms of their meaning.

وقتی بخواهیم درباره ی فعالیتی در گذشته صحبت کنیم که این فعالیتتکرار می شده است می توانیم به یکی ازسه روش زیر عمل کنیم.

I went to school by bus.	We use simple past for the repetitive action in the past.
I used to go to school by bus.	We use “used to” for the repetitive action in the past.
I would go to school by bus.	We use “would” for the repetitive action in the past.

اگر بخواهیم درباره ی حالتی درگذشته صحبت کنیم می توان از دو جمله ی زیر استفاده کرد. جمله ی سوم اشتباه است زیرا "would" برای نشان دادن حالت در گذشته به کار نمی رود.

I had long hair when I was a child.	We use simple past for state in the past.
I used to have long hair when I was a child.	We use “used to” for state in the past.

rule
We can’t use “would” for state in the past.

اگر عملی فقط برای یک بار در گذشته اتفاق افتاده باشد ما فقط می توانیم از فعل گذشته ی ساده استفاده کنیم. و نمی توانیم از دو حالت دیگر استفاده کنیم. زیرا آنها برای حالت تکرار در گذشته استفاده می شوند.

When the earthquake struck, I could escape.	We use simple past for something that happened only once in the past.

rules
We can’t use “used to” for something that happened only once in the past.
We can’t use “would” for something that happened only once in the past.
