IELTS Speaking part one about Staying Home and Sleeping with Answer and Vocabulary band score 6.5-8
Topic: Sleeping
1.When do you usually get up?
Well, I have to say that I kinda an early bird. I often call it a day early in the evening despite the redundant amount of workload and I would get into full gear and get stuff done the next day.
2. How long do you think it’s healthy to sleep?
It kind of depends on which age you are. For elderly people, approximately 4-5 hours will suffice as they don’t have to exert too much physically during the day. For younger people, 8 hours of sleep would recharge their batteries for the next working day.
3. How many hours do you spend on sleeping every day?
Usually I sleep for seven to eight hours every day in order to let my body relax. But if I have to learn for a big exam or prepare for some imperative tasks on the following day, I will burn the midnight oil.
4. Is it necessary to take a nap every day?
Yes, I believe having a short siesta after lunch, maybe for about half an hour, would be beneficial to our bodies to concentrate fully on learning and working in the afternoon. For example, when I suffer from inadequate sleep, I may feel too dizzy and exhausted to do anything but after taking a short nap, I feel much more refreshed and full of energy.
5. What time do you usually go to bed?
Well, I usually go to bed at around 1 .pm every night after I have done all of my homework. I set a regular bedtime and try my best to stick to it so as to feel most refreshed when getting up as well as avoid sleep disorders such as insomnia.
6. Do you always have a good sleep?
No, not really. I can’t fall asleep when there is too much noise surrounding me from barking dogs, disturbing neighbors and city traffic and it makes me toss and turn all night. So sometimes I envy with those who can sleep well in whatever place.
Topic: Staying Home
1. Do you like to go out or stay at home?
If I were to take a pick, I’d opt for staying at home on my own because I loathe the hustle and bustle of city life. Going out is also time-consuming, meaning that I have to groom myself carefully beforehand. By contrast, I can idle my time away when being at home.
2. How much time do you spend at home?
I’m a full-time worker, so I’m only at home in the evening, it’s quite a pity, you know. I wish I had more time to spare at home for my families.
3. What do you do at home?
After getting home from work, I’m just too dead beat to do something strenuous, So, I just hold my smartphone and log into Facebook to catch up onwhat has been going during the day.
4. What did you do at home when you were a child?
When I was knee-high to a grasshopper, I used to play with the toys that my mother gave me, nothing really special. I simply love the company of myself.
