Describe something you do to keep healthy/ Describe something healthy you enjoy doing

You should say:

- and explain why you think doing this is healthy.

I’m by nature a dynamic person, and love to engage in various strenuous activities. One of my favorite physical exercises that I have taken up recently is going for a jog every morning and doing other sporty stuff at the local park.

I’m an early bird so I often set the alarm clock for 6 o’clock in the morning, and as soon as I wake up, I put on my sneakers and sweat suits and head out to the park. Usually, I will try to maintain a normal speed as it really helps build my strength and stamina. Jogging alongside the street to the park often takes me approximately 20 minutes. Once at the park, I have a habit of joining other people for some matches of badminton, which is my forte. Badminton helps my body more flexible and agile. Observing the movement patterns of the shuttlecock also hones my concentration capacity. I sweat a lot after each training session and this somewhat burns some fat off my body as well. Morning exercises are an effective way to keep yourself in the pink with just a few minutes for physical activity, I feel more energetic and optimistic, and ready than ever for my work in the morning.

Do you think health is important?

Without a shadow of a doubt, health is absolutely crucial to the normal functions of the human body. Without health, the high chances are that you will feel lethargic all day, without feeling like doing or eating anything. By contrast, with a good health condition, people often feel optimistic and their minds also function more properly as well. A good health do wonders to your life. I’d have to admit.

Do you think there are differences between men and women when they keep fit?

As far as I’m concerned, there are some distinctions. The first one is that types of sports or physical activities each gender prefers. As for men, they would love to take part in physically demanding sports activities such as lifting heavy weights at the gym. Some other males may love team sports like football or badminton, and the same ease is also quite true for the opposite gender. As for women, I probably think that they prefer more solo physical activities like yoga or taking gentle morning jogs at the park.

What do people do to keep fit?

There’s quite a mixed variety of ways people can do to keep myself in good shape. The first and most common method is maintaining daily physical activity by jogging, push-up or work out at the gyms. On top of that, people can try to have a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, and reduce their intake of red meat.

Do most young people have a healthy lifestyle?

Well to be honest, I would have to admit that the youths nowadays are leading a health-damaging lifestyle because of the fast-paced lifestyle and pressure. To be more precise, workers have to work extra hours while students have to burn the midnight oil revising and reviewing for their exams. As a consequence of this, they can't manage time to have a decent meal rich in vitamins and minerals. Instead, they have no choice but go to buy some take-aways at some fast food restaurants and then get back to their work and study.

How do people get information about health in your country?

Well you know, there’s fairly a wide range of means by which people can gain access to health-related information. I think the most common one is through the Internet. The young nowadays can keep abreast of health information via social networking websites like Facebook or Instagram as they like many pages dealing with health issues. Not only that, newspaper and magazine are also exceedingly popular. Many people are in the habit of reading a paper in the morning before going to work, and they can usually come across some good tips on health really.

Do you think sports can help people improve their health?

I can’t agree with you more. Sporting activities are a highly recommended way to keep fit and get into a better shape. Through sports like football or basketball, the body sweat profusely, which helps us lose weight and makes the blood circulate more properly. Besides, people can cultivate team spirit and enlarge their social circle through participating in sports. What kinds of food are unhealthy? Well in general, I would say that any type of food that is not homemade has certain health risks. One common kind is fast food. You know, most of the ready meals like these contain high levels of fat and sugar, which can cause high cholesterol, obesity and diabetes. I wouldn’t forget to mention restaurant foods. Although most dishes served at the restaurant are appealing to the eyes and appetizing the quality is not one hundred percent good. Many ingredients are of unclear origin and they can be rotten meat but are well reasoned and decorated so as to trick people’s eyes. In a nutshell, don’t judge a book by its cover.

What do schools and parents do to keep young people healthy?

There can be certain courses of actions that schools can adopt to ameliorate the health conditions of the students. Firstly, there should be more extracurricular activities involving the students in physical activities such as training sessions, helping plant the trees or move the chairs and tables. Through these, children would move their bodies more and as a result do exercises while helping others. Secondly, parents need to pay attention to the diet of their kids by not cooking too much fat food. Instead, they should have more meals rich in nutrients and vitamins via an increased intake of fruits and vegetables.

Should young people play dangerous sports?

Personally speaking, we should give them the freedom to make up their own mind. After all, extreme sports bring huge benefits as it boosts their confidence and gives them unforgettable real-life experiences. Through some sports like bungee jumping or bull riding, the young want to test their own limit and try to overcome their fears in some areas. Having said that, the authorities should be responsible for ensuring the minimum safety standards, like they should not allow those having heart diseases to join the dangerous sports, as well as this, the equipment must be up to the standard to minimize the likelihood of an accident taking place.
